This is going to be another brief line or two.....
I drew 32 which ensured plenty of comments about can't moan about that etc etc. Its a corner and it's the 'right' end of the lake. I was fairly optimistic and set up 5 topkits, a shallow rig, a full depth pellet rig, a meat rig for 5m and two margin rigs, one to fish shallow and one to fish the only bit of shelf I could find at 9m along the end bank. The rest of the peg, even tight to the end bank was all within 6" of full depth, not looking good already.
Starting on the meat yielded nothing but a rudd, out to 14m and I had a fish straight away, that took me straight into the undercut end bank and transferred the hook to some dangling roots. Next 3 of hours I had 7 carp, one at full depth 14m, one shallow, one short on meat, one down the edge and three in three put ins at 16 just up the slight slope to the end bank. And that was that, not another bite, fishless for 3 hours, whilst I watched Trigger and Tim Clark on 34 and 31 catching one a bung or in Tim's case, hooking one a bung, not necessarily, landing one a bung.....). The fish were out by the island, in shallow water, no matter what I did, I was unable to entice them into the deeper, open water of my peg.
50lb weighed in, a long, long way behind, I really can't think I did too much wrong, if you don't get a bite for 3 hours, I reckon there aren't many/any fish there.
Here's hoping for better days at Viaduct this Thursday, the Glebe Fri/Sat and back to Viaduct Sunday.

Viaduct Spring league Round 4, Sunday 4th June2015
This won't be overly long......
If it wasn't a league match and if Tony hadn't been coming round for breakfast, I might have cried off, very rarely I get intense headaches and feeling sick, today was one of those days, so that's the excuse in nice and early.
112 came out of the draw tin, it's been a cracking draw and I wasn't disappointed. To cut a long story short I struggled to catch, whilst Nick Chedzoy on 111 (who predicted he'd be last in section) caught steadily all day. Nick did mention that the water was moving, well it might have been on 111, but it wasn't on 112. The aerator was on all day, not sure if that affected my peg or if I was just crap, I certainly felt crap.
It took me nearly 5 hours to think about fishing up towards Nick and once I did, I started catching - doh.... but too little late, at least by the time I packed up, I started feeling a bit better, I weighed a miserable 75lb, but it wasn't last in section, so saved that fate.
